OINP accepted 1215 applications under the Master’s Graduate Program

OINP accepted applications under the Master’s Graduate Program on 30th September 2020 and accepted 1215 applications. However, it was closed on the same day just a few hours after opening due to a heavy rush, and the quota was filled in a quick time.

To meet the specific labor market gaps across Ontario, officials keeps monitoring market demands and accepts limited applications under three streams:

Master’s Graduate
Employer Job Offer: International Student
Foreign Worker streams

As high volumes were already expected, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) previously alerted the candidates that, they can be put in the waiting queue if there are high volumes of application, as Masters Graduate Stream is one of the most popular streams of OINP. The application submission option was available on the Master’s Graduate Stream page and this e-filling option was not supported at mobile and tablet interface.

Those candidates who successfully registered will receive an auto-generated confirmation mail with a file number within three days of registration. Therefore, the candidate is not required to contact OINP officials for the same. Candidates are given 14 days form the receipt of the mail to apply a complete application to OINP. Ontario charges $1,500 to apply and accepts Visa and Mastercard.

Eligibility for OINP Master’s Graduate Stream

International students who have completed a Master’s Degree from an eligible Ontario university were eligible to apply for OINP Master’s Graduate Program. Candidates are not required to have a job offer for this stream neither they required to present physically in Canada to apply this stream.

Other mandatory requirements include a minimum language score of CLB 7 in all abilities of language test in English or French, and the candidate must have lived at least for 1 year in Ontario. Moreover, candidates need to demonstrate an intention to settle in the Ontario province and sufficient funds according to the size of the family.

Earlier in the month, OINP released its plan to start an Expression of interest for some of their PNP streams. Masters Graduate Stream is one of the streams that is included in these forthcoming changes in OINP.

In fact, this stream is one of the reasons behind introduction of EOI because due to heavy demand and rush this stream get closed within in the hours of opening and it doesn’t provide the equal opportunity the potential candidates who some cannot apply in this rush.

The actual layout of the EOI system to be released later in the year as currently, the proposed amendments are under public consultation for 45 days till 23 October 2020.

After getting a successful nomination, Candidates are awarded 600 points in their Express Entry Profile which ensures them an Invitation to Apply in the subsequent draw.
